After months of singles, The ILLZ aka Delgis Mustafa finally released The Darkest Hour aka TDH. The project was recorded over a year span, and this will be the final installment of Delgis Mustafa as “The ILLZ“. Ill Tal (me) produced an “interlude” entitled “Camera (Rudie’s Theme)“. For those that don’t know, this is a reference to long-time friend and photographer of The ILLZ, Rodolfo Diaz.

What’s next for The ILLZ? No clue. I’ve known Delgis for 10 years now and I still can’t figure the guy out lol. One thing is for sure, this won’t be his last album. If it is, I’ll be forced to put out all our unreleased material.

The ILLZ – Nostalgia for The Light

The Illz - Nostalgia for The Light

The ILLZ has released a new track off the highly anticipated/delayed album The Darkest Hour or TDH. The newest track “Nostalgia for the Light” (not produced by Ill Tal) is typical deep/emotional Illz.

Peep the quote from Hypetrak.com – “The track features overall ambient and dreamy production, which fits quite nicely with the up-and-coming artist’s positive lyrics and dream-centered message“.

Check it out.

Chawky White Live

Chawky White - The ILLZ and Ill Tal

Pictured above you’ll see myself and The ILLZ rocking on stage at the Webster Hall Studio this last Thursday. We performed a 3-song set consisting of all-new material from the Chawky White project.

The party was supposed to be 90′s Hip-Hop themed; however, the DJ slowly morphed his playlist from vintage Biggie to current dancehall reggage (?!). This drastically shifted the crowd to a non Hip-Hop audience. To make matters slightly worse, Curren$y happened to be performing upstairs at the same time as us. This took a sizeable chunk out of our audience. Never-the-less, we still rocked it and got paid. For some more pictures of the show, check out IllTalBeats on Facebook. More Chawky White coming soon!

The ILLZ – Unreleased Remix

Back when The ILLZ released The Pursuit, it made quite an impact on the internets. I only had one bonus track on the album. I felt I could add a different dynamic to the LP and asked Illz if I can remix it.

The ILLZ gave me the accapellas to the album and I began work on the project. The album was 80% done, but we ran into some problems. Illz liked a lot of the beats but wanted to re-record the vocals so they sounded better. However, by then work on “In Between Video Series” started so the project hit the back burner. Foruntately, it wasn’t a total waste as the Ill Tal remixes for “Heaven (Higher)” and “The Pursuit” were eventually released.

I decided to put out one of the remixes that really didn’t need the vocals re-recorded. Check out the unreleased Ill Tal remix of “Appreciation“. Ill Tal Remixes/Instrumentals also exist for “Let it Fall”, “Come In”, “Faded”, “In Between Us”, and “Shine”.

The ILLZ – The Darkest Hour

The ILLZ is ramping up for his latest release The Darkest Hour. He’s currently looking to raise $3,000 to help pay for the final recording, mixing, and mastering of the project. If you’d like to donate click here. The album contains a track produced by Ill Tal (me) entitled “Camera“. More details to come when the album finally drops.
