Vinyl is the Sweetest Hangover

Whenever I see a compilation of covers from the 70’s, I always pick it up. I prefer the ones that aren’t straight rips of the original. The Sound Effects were a group (or at least I assume) of session musicians paid to recreate hits at the time. QMO records produced a lot of these albums, each with a different year/season. So far, I’ve only scooped up Summer ’76 but the liner notes indicate they go back to at least 1971. Summer ’76 has a pretty dope tracklist including the Diana Ross hit, “Love Hangover“. The original was sampled quite a few times. This version is much more raw and gritty. Check it out.
